This is an introduction movie of "53 stations of Tokaido" in Ukiyo-e RE:generation project. Tokaido is the main road from Tokyo to Kyoto. These fifty-three stations were the places where travelers took a rest, so there were many hotels and shops then. Ukiyo-e is one of the Japanese painting genres that was popularized and flourished in the Edo Period, around four hundred years ago. You can watch the beautiful landscapes through a variety of Ukiyo-e pictures. This project regenerates these pictures to be more vivid and fresh. And also, this movie shows you the basic information about Tokaido. We hope you enjoy beautiful views and music of traditional Japan.
