Virus.DOS.LSD.1600 is a very dangerous, non-resident, file-overwriting virus on DOS. Systems infected by this virus will become unusable.
When the virus is run, it overwrites all files in the root directory of C:
After overwriting the files, all the attributes are lost so that the hidden files will be shown.
Additionally, since IO.SYS and MSDOS.SYS which located in root, are also overwritten, the system will fail to load after reboot.
The virus activates after overwriting the files. It first outputs garbage characters and then manifests itself with a video effect.
