An epic journey: from hackathon to unicorn

Our story began in May 2019, at the Ethereum Global Hackathon in New York City. Over the course of 40 sleepless hours, Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov developed a DEX aggregator solution from an idea that arrived when the hackathon had already been in progress. Although the solution won only a minor prize, it became the basis for 1inch. In the wake of the hackathon, two brave crypto wizards aided by Mikhail Melnik (he took part as an advisor), high on enthusiasm, spent countless nights developing the future giant of the DeFi space.
