The original color of the Raven was white. In the ancient days, Raven beheld the beauty of the sun and flew towards it with all speed. He tried to eat the sun to absorb its beauty and power but was burned red and fell to the earth where he was left with his present, black color. Our original nature is pure spirit and light. Sometimes our egos get the better of us and we, like the White Raven, get burned. Always be one with spirit and don't give into ego. This is what the Raven teaches us.
