Anitun Tabu is the goddess of wind and rain from Tagalog folklore. Fickle-minded and emotional, her joy is like the wind, her sorrow is like the rain, and her fury is like lightning. It is said that sunshowers are a sign that Anitun Tabu is happy. As such, pre-colonial Filipinos considered it good luck to be wed during such an event. Sacrifices of pinipig (pounded rice grain) are offered to Anitun Tabu to bring about good weather during harvest season.
