This photo was taken outside of a hostel I stayed in while spending a Winter Season in Japan. Asahi -Dake is the highest point on Hokkaido coming in at 2291 meters, which coming from Canada isn't all to high. We were there to ski at the resort which features one big Jackson hole like tram that takes you to about 1600m every 30 minutes or so. The quality of the snow there was INCREDIBLE, Japan has some of the best powder skiing on Earth. Before hitting the slopes I got up for sunrise to photograph some of the surrounding landscapes.
