Vietnam is rich in culture and traditions, one of which is the Hoa Dang Ritual. This ritual is carried out in the afternoon on the river. The goal is to honor the ancestors and wish for a better life. Previously, during this ritual, women dressed in traditional Ao Dai clothes released small torches and flowers into the river. Nowadays they no longer use real flowers but replace them with candles and paper flowers. This ritual only exists in the city of Hue, the cultural center of Vietnam.
This photo shows the release of candles and flowers. Taken from the bridge over the river.
