Tyler signed as a free agent in 2010 with Edmonton and played in seven games and had two catches for 19 yards. Originally drafted 44th overall by Toronto in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft, Scott spent his first two CFL seasons with the Argonauts appearing in 27 games with 37 catches for 521 yards and one touchdown and a two-point convert. In his three years at Saginaw Valley State, Tyler caught 35 passes for 395 yards and three touchdowns in 28 games and received Academic All-American honors in 2004.
