This artwork is part of the "Summer of Max" collection, where I invited fans of Max to share with me their stories, interests, and aspirations—which I then used as inspiration for building Max's world.
This piece was inspired by two locations chosen by the owner:
1. Japan, where the colorful city lights, the nightlife, and the warmth of the locals left a deep sense of gratitude. The owner also spent eight years in the city of Kanagawa, which inspired my interpretation of "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (1831), a woodblock print by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai.
