Safecast's bGeigie Nano is the organization's primary workhorse mapping device. This is a mobile, GPS enabled, logging, radiation sensor. Designed for mounting on the outside of a car window, it can also be used on bicycles, trains, planes, and other modes of transportation. In addition to mapping, it can be used for taking static readings and finding contamination. In logging mode, the Nano takes a measurement every 5 seconds and logs the time and location coordinates in a format designed to integrate perfectly with the public domain Safecast Dataset.
