
Aotearoa, the traditional Māori name for New Zealand, which translates: ‘the land of the long white cloud’ and ‘Rangiātea ki te Whenua’ which speaks of where the heavens meet the earth.

Aotearoa/New Zealand has some of the most dramatic and diverse landscapes in the world, where the mountains rise from the sea as rivers flow and wind down rugged valleys carved out by ancient glaciers. Native forests, lakes and canyons seemingly untouched by time itself as the four seasons change and reveal their dramatic personalities.

This collection dares to show, at least in part, the diverse and unique array of landscapes of ‘Rangiātea ki te Whenua' - the meeting place of heaven and earth and the place I call home.
 
It is a small insight into my artistic journey over 7 years with camera in hand and my love affair with the New Zealand landscape, moments frozen in time from countless hours spent obeying the call of the wild, the call that sees me returning back into nature time and time again.

A jewel in the crown of the Mackenzie Country, this historic little stone church adorns the surrounding area. Until covid hit our shores an image like this was next to impossible because of the hoards of tourists that would often be crawling around here. 

It has taken me 4 years to be able to get the images I have wanted because of the vast number of tourists so to have this place all to myself last year was a literal dream come true!

To finally shoot the night sky overhead was stunning and the best way to show off this little church. The sense of peace and spirituality that comes from this location makes it for me, a very special image.
