WELCOME TO CREATIVE FREEDOM SOCIETY! Meet Alexandra! Back in the Soviet Union you had these Худсовет – “Khudsovet”, artistic committees. They were the party gatekeepers that determined which art was safe and which was not. They opened and shut doors. But then on January 4, 1987, along with Sergey Arto and several others, we formed the very first independent union of artists in the Soviet Union. It was an unbelievable accomplishment in an oppressive Soviet system. I created the logo for this union. I was inspired by the drawings of an ancient caveman. He was free to draw from his heart.
