You don’t think about it when you’re out and about, you see a person on drugs or an alcoholic and turn your nose up and run the other way. The point of this illustration is to portray the loneliness that comes with being an addict. In the end it’s just you and your addiction. A vast majority of these people grew up in care, left to fend for themselves at 18 with little support. It’s now become even worse with social housing becoming more and more scarce, vulnerable young adults are having to apply for private accommodation they cannot afford, with a lack of family and support, life becomes too stressful and they turn to drugs.
