Book Two, Chapter Eight: Investigation

Last time we saw Ghost, they were in the alien device with Naga and Red. We haven’t heard from them since Naga took Red to the surface for help. Ghost hadn’t seen Naga for several weeks, so they went to another friend for advice. It was the Dumbo Octopus, the smartest Octo that Ghost knew. The Dumbo listened attentively to Ghost’s story. At the end, the Dumbo suggested they visit the device to look for clues, so Ghost pointed the way. They could hear it humming from the top of the cave. The Dumbo was in awe of the lights and sounds pouring out of the device. Inside, the panels flashed brightly as they had before. Ghost hoped they could still read the alien letters.
