Soundgarden: Central Tavern, Seattle, 1987

This was about the only shot that turned out from this show - I was having flash issues. This was the last frame on the roll - lucky. And then somehow it got cut off too short after being developed (all by me of course). The image worked great for the square Fopp 12” EP cover - a perfect blank center for Chris and the audience to revolve around. But now I prefer to present it in the full 35mm frame format, with the slice line evident, the brain filling in the missing piece. Almost all of my images are ‘full frame’ (or 90-95% at most) i.e. utilize the full area of the film frame or digital sensor. I love the way the light streak is arcing towards his fist in a Shazam moment waiting to happen....View all
