This artwork was inspired by psychology, and in particular Aaron Beck’s thoughts on cognitive distortions and congruent thought.
According to Beck, our suffering depends more on the meaning and the importance we place on what happens to us as opposed to the impact of the actual event itself.
Inspired by this theory, the artist depicts a girl’s face in Congruence with flowers as a symbol of symbiosis with nature. The flowers in this artwork act as a metaphor for life. After overcoming the challenges that life throws at us, with courage and persistence we can blossom and find inner harmony, beauty and happiness.
