Atrax robustus, also known as the 'Sydney funnel-web Spider' is a species of venomous mygalomorph spider native to eastern Australia, usually found within a 100 km radius of Sydney. The bite of a funnel-web is initially very painful, fang marks are evident and the size of fangs is responsible for the initial pain. Symptoms can include breathing difficulty, disorientation and confusion and unconsciousness.
