Looking Down 1 (7/22/2021, R code). This generative artwork is part of a two-part series (numbered 1 and 2). The code generated two layers of 18-21 concentric nested spirals that each include 300 points. Triangles were generated with their base and point angled between each pair of spiral points, then randomly resized and shifted in space with scaling dependent on distance from the center of the spiral. The first layer used a partly transparent, jittered color gradient that depended on which spiral was being drawn to fill tiles, then the second layer drew empty outlines for the majority of tiles.
