Since I was a child the image of the Man Eaters of Tsavo (which the 90's film "The Ghost in the Darkness" portrayed as big, majestic lions) walking through long grass and looking intently into the distance has haunted me. 

This male lion had just finished mating with a lioness when he stood up and noticed a herd of Topi watching them in the distance.
