Nxai Pan, Botswana, Circa 2021.

The region of Nxai Pan is home to an unusually high number of male elephants and many of them wise old bulls who know where to go for water.

Every day these groups of bulls walk in single file down the same paths from different areas of the park to the one water hole for miles around. 

They then spend the midday heat drinking and painting themselves grey with the mud around the waterhole and then return to their feeding grounds in the afternoon.
