Beware the letterman

It was unclear exactly what the letterman was renowned for, appearing from across the seas twice a year as part of the solstice festivities. Bringing with him strange fruits and confectionery that the ladies were never sure whether they liked it because it was nice or because it was from the letterman. Whatvwas known however was that following a visit from the letterman ones fortunes could change for the better or much worse, only he had the knowledge of what was foretold.
