This poem was created intuitively following conversations with various marginalized community members, along with self-reflection relative to the similarities of our struggles. Our experiences are never identical, but so many of us long to be free from societal constraints which stifle our true selves. Even more heartbreaking, people are hurting, suffering, and dying, simply because their existence makes someone uncomfortable. This is NOT acceptable. I hope the message of this poem expresses that every person is worthy to live their own truth.
