Komainu(狛犬)#2

Komainu(狛犬) are two statues of dogs. They’re guardian dogs(守護犬). You will find them at the entrance of a shrine. Concept: This visuals in the background of these guardian dogs are actually part of a collection of old documents from the Edo period that I own.(This document has been passed down me.) I used them as a background for this work because they contain a lot of information about temples, pagodas and bodhicitta. I am a painter... and my ancestors were samurai and painter, so before this very damaged ancient document decayed, I crossed it with my art work and presented it as an NFT piece.
