Avalokitesvara

After attaining enlightenment, Avalokiteshvara made the great vow that if I could benefit and rejoice all sentient beings, I would be born with a thousand hands and a thousand eyes to save all sentient beings of infinite duration, and that all sentient beings who hold my name with one heart would be relieved of the grave sins of birth and death for ten thousand billion kalpas.
