Title: Venice Description: I have always been inspired by the beauty of this place, Venice. This is a magical place made of resilience and adaptation. Venice is made up of 120 islands lying on a large lagoon, between the mainland and the sea. Originally the territory of Venice was occupied by stilt houses and inhabited by Illyrian and Venetian populations, who lived off fishing and extracting salt. The Venetians, expelled by the Ostrogoths and Lombards, found shelter in the marshes of the mouth of the river Po and founded Venice.
