Minamoto no Raikou (944-1021 AD) was a 10th Century Samurai. Also known as Minamoto no Yorimitsu, he served the Fujiwara clan who were a powerful family of regents in medieval Japan. Raikou, along with his brother Yorinobu, took violent measures the Fujiwara were themselves unable to take. He is one of the earliest Minamoto of historical note known for his military exploits, including quelling the bandits of Ōeyama.
