"Era" from Simpler Times is the 1st work by digital artist Ryan Hawthorne to be minted under a custom contract. Exploring the relationship between past, present & future. Simpler Times is a collection of digital works that takes scans of classic sculptures and condenses them down to their raw geometric form. These abstracted polygonal figures from the past are transported through time united under contemporary themes and placed in futuristic environments. "Era" is an abstracted rendition of Michelangelo's "Pieta" focusing on mother Mary looking down at her fallen son as a new age is poised to begin.
