Anyone who knows me knows that the moon is my favorite subject to photograph. I was coming down from a hike when I noticed the moon setting in the direction of these mountains. It's impossible to grasp their depth in this image, but one is spaced out from the other, which caused the first to be in the shadow, while the other was receiving the last light from the sunset on the other side. When I realized this, I ran for a few minutes, trying to figure out where I needed to be in order for the moon to be perfectly aligned with the mountains. A truly unique sight to wonder.
