Flat Earthers believe the earth is not a spheroid but flat like a disc. Contemporary science (and, in fact, even the ancient Greeks) says differently, but I’m fascinated by the Flat Earth theories because their stance is rooted in the idea one should think for oneself and that for whatever reason a lot of people are misled. While I don't agree with the outcome in this instance, their observational, independent-thinking approach is the basis of science. Also, reading about projects like MKUltra gives one enormous empathy for those who think the government might be lying to them.
