The inhumane experiments done on US citizens and foreigners during the endless years of Project MKUltra are hard to fathom. Yes, our government experimented ruthlessly on unsuspecting people using hallucinogenic drugs, torture (including electroshock, sensory deprivation, and verbal and sexual abuse), and more, and kept this secret for decades. The totally uncontrolled and ultimately worthless experiments ruined people’s lives and achieved essentially nothing. Was the cold war and the presumption that our enemies were doing the same terrible things any justification?
