In the Bible, Jacob's Ladder is set upon the Earth, and the top of it reaches to Heaven. Here the ladder is constructed of impossible geometry. All the better to accomplish the impossible task. This is the fifth piece in a collaborative series by sphericalart and bucwah. We have teamed up to explore the artistic impossibilities of "penroses." They are named after Sir Roger Penrose, who devised and popularised the Penrose triangle in the 1950s, describing it as "impossibility in its purest form", and who exchanged material with the artist M. C. Escher, whose earlier depictions of impossible objects partly inspired it. Created in 2019. 4500 x 6000 pixels. Edition of One.
