Lenina Street is the second most important (after Red Avenue) street in Novosibirsk. The presence of theaters, hotels, many restaurants, cafes, small shops and boutiques make it an attractive place for walking for Novosibirsk residents and city guests.
Previously, Lenin Street consisted of two streets: Kuznetskaya, which ran through the central part of the city, and Mikhailovskaya, located in the railway station area. In Soviet times, in 1935, Kuznetskaya was renamed Stalin Avenue, and Mikhailovskaya - Lenin Street. Since 1961, the streets have been merged into one Lenin Street.
