This is the second of the "Temporary Happiness" miniature photography series from 2013. These photographs were taken in the back alley behind my first apartment in LA in Koreatown.
I wanted to play with the opposing imagery of the idealized landscape inspired by my hometown juxtaposed in the new space I occupied. The deer and environments become islands in a foreign space that they must adapt to. I'm interested in playing with interlocking and overlapping opposites in my work. I believe we live largely in the overlaps and in-betweens of these extremes.
