On 25 August 2008, the Zeila, under tow to Bombay, India, from Walvis Bay, Namibia, came loose and eventually beached itself on the 'Skeleton Coast' of Namibia. Lashed by the Atlantic, she was unsalvageable and rests to this day near the popular fishing spot of 'Die Walle'.
At the time this photo was taken I was experimenting with the use of foreground interest, but the struggle here was there was little close enough to the shoreline to use. In the end I settled on this shell, a slightly slow shutter, the foggy conditions and the hint of a reflection, to create enough interest for the eye.
