Midway through my cross-country road trip, I found myself in the vast and incredible landscapes of the Southwest. I always wanted to visit this part of the United States because of how otherworldly the scenes and colors are. I set out to find as many unique terrains as I could. This one stood out to me; a perfect sliver in the sandstone with a concave hollow on either side. The symmetry of this location felt tranquil and complete. I ponder how it was created over time. To capture this shot, I scrambled up the rocky path, set up my tripod and stepped into frame for a self-portrait.
