The Harvest

This is a hand drawn frame by frame animated Warli tribal art showcasing the scene of a village harvest. The Warli are an indigenous tribe living in the western parts of India, predominantly in the mountain ranges of the Western Ghats, as well as coastal borders of Maharashtra - Gujarat. Theirs is an unique art form of wall painting relying principally on basic geometric shapes: a circle, a triangle, and a square. These shapes are symbolic of different elements of nature. The circle represents the sun and the moon and the triangle depicts mountains. The square corresponds to human invention, indicating a sacred enclosure or a piece of land.
