After two failed attempts to photograph the comet Neowise in 2020 I managed to capture it in alignment with the Entrance Island lighthouse off of my home island of Gabriola in British Columbia.
Failure is always discouraging in the creative process, but the additional planning it allowed me resulted in the photo above.
This was the peak brightness of Neowise and the next few days it got less and less visible. The orbital period of the comet is 6,766 years, and while I'm so happy to have captured such a rare and breathtaking phenomenon; I wish I could relive this night over and over again.
