From Darkness to Light

In 2016, I knew very little about capturing lightning. But that didn't stop me from methodically tracking this storm as it approached the San Cayetano Mountains in Rio Rico, Arizona on August 6. Within minutes the storm passed over the peaks, and I hurriedly adjusted my camera settings as best as I could in anticipation. To my amazement, a solitary but extremely branched cloud to ground strike landed on a small hill just below the peaks.
