Piece #51 of 100
Portrait of a Dani tribesman in his picturesque war uniform.
The Dani are an ethnic group found only in 1938 and living in the central highlands of West Papua (Indonesia).
They remained until then technically still in the stone age.
As most of Dani men, this warrior wears still today the typical sheath for the penis (called "koteka") obtained from drying and emptying of a pumpkin.
A beautiful pectoral composed of a mosaic of small shells hang around his neck.
