Summer Roses

This is one of my favourite photographs I've ever taken. It was the hottest day of the year during the summer of 2020, and my girlfriend and I had filled up a pool with cold water to dip our toes in and keep cool. Angela is a keen gardener and had been dead-heading a shrub rose we'd bought as an anniversary gift to each other. Whilst I was photographing the reflections coming from the pool, she threw in the two rose heads and the frame just happened. Whenever I see it I think of her and that beautiful summers day.
