Painting #000: Branches

In the seventeenth-century landscape painting in the United Independent Provinces of Holland was in its heyday. None of the modern landscape masters can match them in expression, color, variety, and uniqueness of subject matter. The art of Dutch painting of that time had a very noticeable and tangible influence on several generations of landscape artists not only in Holland but also in other Western European countries.
