"Sin was not born the day Eve plucked an apple: that day a splendid virtue called disobedience was born."
This work adopts the scene of original sin, reproduced in a modern style, to deal with the theme of disobedience, of rebellion.
The first act of man (personified by Adam and Eve), is in fact an act of defiance, rebellion and disobedience towards the supreme power, in this case God.
Man must yield before the superior power of God, but does not express repentance. He begins his independent life and his first act of disobedience is in fact the beginning of human history, because it is the beginning of human freedom.
