No False Idols / Gods

After the INTR:mssn series, I refined my abstract portraiture to encompass smaller facial details and experimented with textures and simpler palettes. Flattening the works allowed for the textures to shine through. "No False Gods" is a critique of the growing EGO developed through instagram media culture. The constant editing of one's life paints a world in a lens that may not be accurate. So much so, that this aspect becomes the life--the lie once perpetuated for clout devolves into a cycle of systematic erasure of the "true self." Presented as a digital projection in a group show in NYC.
