This photo was created while I was alone in the backcountry of Yellowstone with a herd of bison during rut season. When the bison are in rut they are constantly rolling around in ummmm, their own scent..... and kicking dust up EVERYWHERE. This creates a lot of texture on their already rough skin and coats. As one of the few clouds in the sky that day passed by, I was given about 60 seconds of really good filtered sunlight just as the "King of the Hill" stood up and posed for me. It created such a cool texture that you can see in the photo.
