Taken at Waimea Canyon, Kauai, at the end of a very long day. After hours of driving and many delays that ultimately kept me from reaching the location I had planned for my evening shoot, I found myself standing on top of this majestic canyon made from millions of years of volcanic activity and erosion. I had several minutes to reflect as the scene around me was engulfed in the fiery light from the falling sun above. I watched the colors dance across the canyon as the minutes passed, and I took a moment to consider all of the variables that led to me being in that place at that very moment.
