The Kharkiv Regional State Administration looked like a rock-hewn fortress. Its windows peeked out between the steep vertical columns supporting the massive structure. The flags and the coat of arms were raised above, declaring that this building was the embodiment of the state.
Mykhailo Skop associates the administration with the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. Although the mausoleum was built to glorify, it spoke of mortality.
The new sight depicted by the artist is empty inside, so the sky is visible through it. Its columns no longer have to support anything; they rise to the sky, sprouting constructivist elements in an Alexandra Ekster manner.
