We had just written the song at the Campfire sessions at a lovely ranch in North Austin. We thought it would be so special to debut it since we were on the same show lineup a couple days later. Not only was this the first time we ever performed "Heartbreak Closer" live, but also the first time we both shared the stage. After a year of traveling the world as a team, working on so many projects together and becoming the best of friends,you can only imagine how full circle this moment was for both of us.
