A photo of the sun, peeking through a brief lapse in the cloud cover. Images of warfare and destruction, human grotesque and suffering throughout, invaded my mind's eye as I worked on this piece. Step by step, assaulted on all sides by the horrors of war, tears streaming down my face, I worked wearily until completion. My editing process entails bouncing the original photo between multiple image manipulation phone apps, then once I've become satisfied with the basis, I move it to Photoshop, where I then layer the image multiple times and apply distortion and color manipulating filters via Filter Forge to different layers with varying sequences of blending modes, cascading the effect...View all
