f(η) Orchid is an ever-changing, ever-evolving sculptural exploration born through order and chaos. Each seed has a different set of starting conditions, resulting in drastically different outcomes. The simulation is carefully modeled after coral-reefs and inherits a lot of the same properties but with a twist. Using photosynthesis, the organism stores potential energy that then propagates through the internal network to areas with strong apical dominance. There is also an inflicted bias injected into the evolution making it more likely to grow at the intersection of carefully crafted geometric structures, leaving us a fusion between organic and artificial outcomes. functions.art
