I always found the characteristic shape of mount Kirkjufell, the Church Mountain, extremely inspiring when paired with - and juxtaposed to - Kirkjufellsfoss waterfalls. During years dedicated to photographing this scene, I explored all possible compositions; the lower viewpoint presented here, out of all the possible variants, is definitely my favorite.
My favorite season to photograph Kirkjufellsfoss is winter. In winter, the snow covering the mountain adds texture and depth to it; more, there is higher likelihood of ice and icicles on the rocks surrounding the falls.
